Yavel Francis Lanuza is a lawyer with vast experience in the private and public sector as well as international consultant to private and international organizations.

She is currently the Ambassador of Panama to the Kingdom of Belgium, the Great Duchy of Luxembourg, the Republic of Croatia and the Republic of Slovenia and Head of Mission to the European Union. She has been Ambassador of Panama to the United Nations Organization in New York, Deputy Chief of Mission in Washington D.C. Ambassador Francis was also Permanent Representative of Panama to the World Trade Organization (WTO). Ambassador Francis was also the Executive Director of the Foreign Trade Council of the Presidency of the Republic. (Panama), former office that developed a commercial agenda related to the execution of the foreign trade policy and led the international trade negotiations team.

In her private practice, Ms. FRANCIS LANUZA has been the Executive Director of Legal and Regulatory Matters of Cable & Wireless Panama, S.A. -largest telecom presence of Liberty Latin America in the region-. During her private practice she has been Partner of ANZOLA, ROBLES & ASOCIADOS and FL FRANCIS & CO, as well as previously associate in SUCRE, ARIAS, CASTRO & REYES and ALEMAN, CORDERO, GALINDO & LEE, with an extensive administrative, commercial and judicial practice in regulatory, telecommunications, energy, tech, competition, IP, commercial and foreign trade matters.

She has been consultant and advisor to governments and international organizations such as the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB), the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the International Finance Corporation (IFC) in matters related to foreign trade, competitiveness, integration, development and implementation of public policies. She has also been member of the List of Expert Panelists for the Republic of Panama in several regional and multilateral fora. She is member of the list of arbitrators of the Center for Conciliation and Arbitration of Panama.

Ms. FRANCIS LANUZA has a degree in Law and Political Sciences from Universidad Santa Maria La Antigua (Panama) and holds a Master of Laws (LLM) from the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor) and an Executive Master in Digital Law and Technologies from Centro de Estudios Garrigues (Madrid). She holds the International Program in Business Administration for Lawyers in INCAE (CA).

She has been Director and Deputy to several Boards of Directors. She has a strong interest in mentoring and promotion of young talents, being founding member of
